Archival Collection of Talks on Various Bahá'í Subjects

Mr. Nathan Rutstein

Presentations by Mr. Nathan Rutstein

“World Order of Baha’u’llah” was written in the 1930s, a turbulent period that includes The Great Depression, the rise of Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin. People were searching for change and these leaders promised it. Now fifty years later the doctrines of these false hope have been swept away and people are beginning a serious appraisal of the writings of Shoghi Effendi. Shoghi Effendi’s herculean task was to train the Baha’is while attending to a host of tasks, each one of which would constitute a full-time job for anyone.

Nathan Rustein begins by explaining that happiness is a human right. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá often asked us: “Are you happy?” Tells the story of a Bahá’í Community gripped by sadness. Mr. Rutstein explains why he thinks happiness and the fear of God are related. Told how Louis Gregory and a white Bahá’í went teaching in the deep south during a time when racial hatred was at a peak. Told another story about a non-Bahá’í couple who weren’t married. He drank. She was married to another man. She became pregnant. He describes what happened when they encountered Baha’u’llah and the fear of God.
