Heroic to the Formative Age

1988

The recording is the opening of the International Baha'i Youth Conference in Columbus, Ohio. After a few speakers, Dr. Henderson welcomed the attendees and facilitators of the conference. Present at the conference are Counselors Jacqueline (now Left-Hand Bull) Delahunt, Dr. William (“Billy”) Roberts, Dr. Wilma Brady, Mr. Robert Harris, and NSA of the USA Chair, Judge Dorothy Nelson. It was remarked that Hand of the Cause of God Mr. William Sears, could not be there because of illness but that he was “spiritually” present. Next the hosts of conference were introduced. Each host gave a short speech on significance of the Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh and its relationship to the Conference. The keynote speaker comes to the microphone at 27 minutes into the recording. He reviews the history of the Faith from the Heroic Age to the Formative Age. He describes the three stages of the Heroic Age and the Main Figures associated with each stage. 1. The  Ministry of Báb 1844-1853; 2. The Ministry of Bahá'u'lláh 1853-1892; and 3. The Ministry of Abdu'l-Bahá 1892-1921. As he reviewed each stage he told some stories related to the Lives of these Three Central Figures.
