Jack McCants relays touching stories of his personal experiences with the Hands of the Cause and recalls stories he’s heard and read of the Master and of Shoghi Effendi. The stories illustrate the power in the Cause of God revealed through the Holy Spirit.
Jack McCants urges listeners to follow Shoghi Effendi’s advice to teach in a way that “suits your nature and capacity”. He warns of future catastrophes that will leave the Baha’is to be “beacons in the darkness”. We are building a New World Order; so we need to be prepared.
Mr. McCants reviews some of the past talks he’s given. Here he wants to emphasize the difference between the Baha’i Faith and Christianity. “It’s different.” He recites the quotation of Shoghi Effendi which begins: “Let there be no mistake.
Mr. McCants makes it clear that these remarks are going to consist of his own opinions. Jack remarks that he had done great deal of teaching around the globe. He specifies the Philippine Islands where Dr. Muhajir asked him and his wife to go to set up an office of teaching and he describes their challenges and promises that everyone who arises to teach will face challenges.
Jack McCants speaks with emotional fervor and breaks into tears while relaying a number of stories of heroic Baha’is.
Mr. McCants uses photographs of Mr. Olinga and Dr. Muhajir as examples of the best teachers of his time. He uses a series of quotations from Shoghi Effendi to demonstrate the importance of teaching to the present day Baha’i Community. He clarifies our Mission and Our Message.
Jack McCants pioneered in the Pacific for nine years. First spoke at Green Lake in 1962. He is currently a member of the NSA. He remarks that Hand of the Cause of God Bill Sears is now (1989) at Green Lake and this a blessing and a bounty. Our problem as Bahá’ís is not having Faith but sharing it with others. He quotes promises of Bahá’u’lláh contains in His prayers. “Americans are playing with…the spiritual destiny of America.” We have the spiritual “food” we just need to share it.
Mr. Jack McCants talked about how to teach the faith. When you want to teach the Faith God will aid you and guide your spirit with his unfailing power. He talked about the quality of leadership, the quality of God and explained the Glory of God. Abdu'l-Bahá said that “Only quality of God that you and I can understand is those we have experienced". What is it that God wants you to be? God want you to know Him and to worship Him to enjoy and be happy.
Jack McCants begins by asking the Friends if they had “pondered” or “reflected” on the recent message from the Universal House of Justice. Why? Because the House had asked them in their message to do this. His point is that without the spiritual quality of “truthfulness” other spiritual qualities cannot be developed.
