Mr. Morris Taylor talked about the value of virtues within the Bahá’í community. The essential elements of unity in the community are love, forgiveness and courtesy. He quotes Bahá'u'lláh “O people of God! I exhort you to courtesy.” “Courtesy is indeed … the lord of all virtues. Blessed is he who is adorned with the mantle of Uprightness and illumined with the light of Courtesy. He who is endowed with Courtesy is endowed with a great station.” We underestimate the value of courtesy. Courtesy is a station of God. ‘Abdu'l-Baha advises us to be concerned with one another; to lend help to their projects and plans. We should console a friend who is in grief. We need to encourage each other more. Patients who are given love and encouragement are more likely to have a lower death rate and may recover sooner. Think about it, if in a diverse Bahá'í community we encourage each how much more service could be rendered to God. Baha’u’llah says: Nothing whatever can, in this Day, inflict a greater harm upon this Cause than dissension and strife, contention, estrangement and apathy, among the loved ones of God.”
