Parents and the Baha’i Youth Movement

1985

The House of Justice has sent two major messages to the youth in the past sixteen months. Mr. Schechter recommends that parents sit down with their youth and go over these messages and also read the Ridvan messages with them. Dr. Arbab is next and congratulates the parents of Bahá’í youth. He worked with the youth on a project that “Youth Can Move the World”. He consulted with the NSAs of the USA and of Canada about the issue of youth. He makes the point that “Moderation is not somewhere between Bahá’í standards and the standards of the world.” Explains that 800 million people are currently starving on this planet and some of those are Bahá’ís. “It is essential that the North American youth and you as their parents respond to the call of the Universal House of Justice.” The last speaker is Mr. Hooper Dunbar who explains that the House of Justice is charged by Bahá’u’lláh to promote the Lesser Peace and toward this end they have written “The Promise of World Peace” and addressed it to the world.
